Secret Meadow Shepherd’s Hut
This shepherd’s hut is the perfect place to call home for the family of mice. They have borrowed some human-sized trinkets to use as essential furniture in their hut. A teacup makes a perfect shower for a little mouse. Spools of old thread make for chairs to sit on, a tin of sardines creates the comfort of a baby cot and tucks neatly underneath a simple bed inside. A pimento tin doubles up as a small wood-burning stove. A safety pin becomes a towel rack and an old watch provides the time of day. Little stairs can be clipped to the front door to help them with the step-down. All can be accessed by removing the roof, or through the little doors at the front.

Why We Love It
About Tender Leaf Toys
We create exciting worlds of imaginative wooden toys, that are made to last with a lifetime of love. We strive to continuously develop and grow our charmingly quirky products, that are engaging, tirelessly entertaining, and perfect for little hands. While we love to be educational through play, we encourage every child to be authentic so that they can grow with confidence, and have fun at the same time!
Every year, we spend around two months working alongside our wonderful suppliers Mentari International in Indonesia, makers of all Tender Leaf Toys. Their family-run factory operates with high standards of training, wellbeing and respect and provides dependable employment for hundreds of local villagers. During our visits we work together, eat together and make gorgeous toys together.
We are deeply committed to protecting Indonesia’s natural resources and only work with reclaimed rubberwood, a by-product of the latex industry. In addition, for every reclaimed tree it uses, we plant a new one, driving ahead the cycle of regeneration. We have been awarded the ICTI Ethical Toy Program seal of approval for our ethical and sustainable supply chain.
From raw wood to the finished product, every single stage of production happens in the same family-run factory. Once each toy has been hand-painted, assembled and checked, it is wrapped in paper and packaged in recycled cardboard.
We care a lot about being as sustainable to our lovely planet as we can be, and we are close to eliminating single-use plastic in all our packaging.
